At Sabarmati Railway station a snake escapes death in dramatic manner. A snake got caught in railway track.It got caught in a hole of track as it tried to crawl in the hole. A goods train passed over it without harming it. When spectators saw it they immediately called rescue team to take it out from the hole of track. It was then safely removed from the hole.
Gujarat’s Energy Department has announced 5 MW of rooftop solar power generation capacity with estimated investment of 50 Crore rupees. The project would cover 60 buildings including Jeevraj Mehta (JM) Bhawan (old secretariat). The Bhawan is projected to have 17 lakh units clean generation capacity annually, thereby saving over Rs 50 lakh on power bills. The 5 MW of rooftop solar power is expected to generate 80 lakh units annually.
On Saturday a trial court awarded life imprisonment to eleven persons including three jailors for planning and committing a murder in the Sabarmati central jail. Chetan Patel alias Battery was stabbed to death inside the prison by a rival gang of Gova Nagji Rabari of Amraiwadi area on August 7, 2005 in order to establish his dominance on inmates. The court has also fined Rs 1000 on each of the convicts.
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev and activist Anna Hazare on Friday said the duo will launch a nationwide campaign for a strong Lokpal and return of black money from May 1. The two leaders have also announced plans to sit on a day-long token fast in Delhi on June 3.
In order to promoteunity and peace, Ahmedabad Municipality Corporation will send 16 students from the city to the United States of America and England. Students from the city’s municipal schools have been selected for the same. The tour starts from April 29. In the 65-day tour, the students will promote peace, unity and humanitarianism by performing dance/drama of 90 minutes’ duration.

However Weather forecast said that withing 24 hours the climate will become normal the way it was.
